1. Photography
Photography by Irma Sharikadze
I love the theme and composition of this photograph. The colours are vibrant, in contrast to dreary winter weather.
Hot Air by =directionsforpest (Hannah C)
Another colourful photograph (per chance the winter greyness is getting to me). Great angle and focus, not to mention the amazing model and styling. I'd love to sport that dress and those gloves, alas I don't have a hot air balloon handy nor the tattoos to match.
Hannah's portfolio is full of splendid photos and is definitely worth checking out.
2. Illustrations
A Bird in Hand by Justin Richel
What can I say, I love owls and recently became enthralled with frames, silhouettes and detailed hair illustrations. This painting hits the jack pot, and you can buy a print on papernstitch.
Lize by Florian Nicolle
I love this style of illustration. It looks so carefree and spur of the moment. The blues and earth tones are gorgeous.
3. Print Design
Wooden Birds by Alvin Diec
I've become obsessed with this red & teal colour scheme. The opacity treatment, detailed bike illustrations and magazine style elements are brilliantly executed. I'm sold and smitten.
ADC Henry Wolf by IAAH
Let's start with the fact that spirographs are pretty darned fantastic. Then let's move on to the red & teal colour scheme, combined with subdued grey and brown. The intentional typos idea is interesting and the design rocks.
4. Sculptures
Sheimy by Brian Marshall
He is just too cute and peculiarly lifelike, I can almost see his tail wagging. This is also a great example of Found Object Art, and there are many more at adopt-a-bot.
Canary 3 by Kate MacDowell
Amazing detail and really creative idea. This is just a little creepy, as birds tend to be, but the use of light colour porcelain makes it look innocent, fragile and dreamlike.
